This bread dough is delicious!! It is slightly sweet and so soft! The best part of this bread is that it is a no-knead bread! Absolutely no kneading is required! In fact, the only time your hands come in contact with the dough is to transfer it to a bowl to rise! You may want to make a double batch of this!!
Simple Bread Dough Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon (1 packet) yeast
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1/2 cup boiling hot water
- 1 tablespoon oil
Directions
- Add yeast, sugar, salt, and flour to a food processor fitted with a blade attachment.
- Process on low for 1 minute.
- Slowly add water, then oil.
- Process until dough is no longer sticking to sides, and forms a ball.
- Remove dough, form into ball.
- Place in greased bowl and cover with a towel. Let rise in a warm place for about 45 minutes, or until doubled in size.
To Freeze:
Wrap dough ball in plastic wrap. Place in freezer bag and store in freezer for up to 6 weeks.
To Bake:
If using fresh dough, place into lightly greased loaf pan and punch dough down to fit pan.
Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes or until edges become crisp and
golden brown. If using frozen, remove dough from freezer and thaw at room temperature for 4 hours before baking.
Have you tried this with whole wheat flour? Just wondering if I would use the same amount of whole wheat. Would love to try this and then cook in the crock pot.

Hi Robin! I have not tried this particular recipe using whole wheat flour yet. I have made a similar bread dough with half whole wheat and half white. If you have a whole wheat recipe you are comfortable with, it should do great in the crock pot! Just check after around 45 minutes. Would love to hear how this one turns out with whole wheat if you try it!
DeleteI would live to try this bread. I don't have a large food processor though. I have a hand mixer, a blender or a small door processor I could use. Any suggestions

DeleteHi! I have never tried this recipe using a blender but it is an interesting idea! You may want to try halving or quartering the recipe and do small portions at a time since the blades are so short. If you try it, let me know how it works! Otherwise, you could easily make this dough by hand by mixing the yeast with warm water and sugar, letting it sit, and then adding the flour, salt, and oil... it will require some kneading though. Would love to hear how it turns out!!
